Here’s one more addition to my “everyday” collection! Somebody brought these gooseberries home to my grandma and I decided to snap a few quick pictures before they were stored away.
Books weave magic! Today the kid brother picked up “The Name is Rajnikanth” by Gayathri Sreekanth.. the Indians reading this are probably going, “Aaaah… say no more!” To everybody else, this is the biography of THE biggest icon of the Tamil film industry.. a God in his own way 😉 While Ani read, I clicked away 🙂 He says, it’s a good read so far… next on the list for me!
This is a picture I’d clicked a few weeks ago for a group on facebook. Kumkum (saffron powder) plays an integral part of Hindu tradition. To know more, check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kumkum
I bet I’m not alone in feeling that rush of excitement when a childhood play thing finds its way into my hands 🙂 Isn’t it a ready-made recipe for a smile? I found my Viewmaster, that my grandpa brought back from a visit to Singapore, with a bunch of Disney slides.. it kept me well entertained for a good while 😀
These pictures were taken during a thread ceremony/upanayanam in the family. In these pictures, I have captured a few things, that are an integral part of the rituals followed To know more about the ceremony, look up http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Upanayana
